This data is provided by the Eviction Lab to investigate the monthly eviction rate between 2020 and 2021 in the state of New York (NY).

Data Dictionary
variable description
id The site identifier, either Census tract FIPS number or Zip Code.
month The month of the data being presented in the row.
racial_majority Majority racial/ethnic group for a given tract/zip, based on American Community Survey (ACS) 2015-2019 estimates. Black = Black, non-Hispanic. White = white, non-Hispanic. Hispanic = Hispanic. Other/None = Another racial/ethnic group is the majority, or there is no group with >50% of the population in the tract/zip.
filings_2020 The residential eviction filings in that `id` for that month of 2020-2022.
filings_avg The average filings for a given `id` over the baseline years for that month. See the [Get the Data](https://evictionlab.org/eviction-tracking/get-the-data/) page on the [ETS website](https://evictionlab.org/eviction-tracking/) for the baseline years used for a given site. Baseline data undergoes a similar cleaning process to the 2020+ data.
